President Cyril Ramaphosa Introduces the Foundation in Parliament

Trevor Noah Foundation - our story - our founder - Blog

On the 7th of March, Trevor and our Executive Director, Shalane Yuen, had the humbling opportunity of meeting South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. Not only did Trevor use the opportunity to introduce the Foundation and our work in education, but Trevor highlighted the need for the South African government to scale up successful development projects.

Then to our surprise, the President invited us to the National Assembly where he welcomed Trevor as his special guest. The President gave the Foundation a shout out and put us on the spot, but no pressure!

”Honourable Speaker, it’s a real pleasure and joy to welcome Trevor Noah amongst us. I had a moment to chat with him about his work, but I was particularly impressed by the Foundation he has set up to work on education, which is run by one of his colleagues Shalane. We applaud him for ploughing back to the country.” – South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa

Thank you, Mr President. We won’t let you down!
